Levittown Resident to Be Inducted Into Holy Trinity Hall of Fame
Selected community members inducted for their service, dedication to the school.

The long-time bookstore manager at Holy Trinity High School will be retiring in June after a successful 37-year career, with an induction into the school’s hall of fame to follow.
Joyce Basel of Levittown, who started working in the bookstore in 1976, will be honored at Holy Trinity’s 18th annual Monsignor John C. Seidenschwang Hall of Fame Induction, to be held on June 9 at the Uniondale Marriott.
The honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame goes to selected community members for "exemplifying the spirit and vision of late Principal Monsignor John through their service and dedication to Holy Trinity.”
“Basel raised five children with her husband Paul, four of whom are Holy Trinity alumni. Paul Basel was a very active member of Holy Trinity’s Parent’s Club, and in 1976 when the principal, Msgr. Seidenschwang mentioned that the bookstore was looking for a manager, he was quick to mention his wife had “retail” experience.”
“37 years later, the quiet, always polite and eternally pleasant Mrs. Basel is still running the bookstore, as efficient as ever, and will be retiring this June. Besides being active in many school activities over the years and being a loyal donor, Mrs. Basel has spawned a legacy family at Holy Trinity with three grandchildren who are graduates.”
Other inductees to the hall of fame are Alumni Judy Galgano (’71), a long-time volunteer and supporter of the school, and Guidance Counselor Sr. Margaret Casey, who will retire at the end of the school year after over 44 years of service to Holy Trinity.
