Levittown School Board President Thanks Community
Letter to the editor from Michael Pappas, Levittown School Board President.

To the residents of the Levittown School District,
On behalf of your elected Board of Education, I would like to extend our thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support of the fine educational system we have in place here in Levittown. Everybody knows that today, communities are judged by the quality of their school district, and ours is indeed a good one. I state proudly that my children attend Levittown Public schools.
The job of a board member is not an easy task. Each year it becomes increasingly more difficult to put forth a budget that not only maintains but improves the wonderful services we provide to our students and residents. As board members we must remember all the while that a budget presented for your approval needs to be a budget that is financially sound, maintains our high standards and is palatable to the voting public. With budget support over 60% this year, it appears that we accomplished that goal once more.
Additionally, the re-election of two incumbent board members Peggy Marenghi and James Moran also shows your continued faith in this Board of Education as a unit. I can tell you from the bottom of my heart that we appreciate that confidence, and will continue to work side by side with our superintendent and his staff to better our schools for our students, faculty, staff and community.
On a final note, with graduations and moving up ceremonies right around the corner, we wish our students continued success and hope all of you have an enjoyable fun filled summer break!
Thank you once again.
Mike Pappas
