Two Amityville men were arrested after police said they tried to steal merchandise and attacked a store manager who confronted them.

LEVITTOWN, NY — Two Amityville men were arrested after police said they tried to steal a printer and office chair from a Levittown retailer, attacked a worker who confronted them, then attacked a police officer who tried to apprehend them.
Around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, Justin Davis, 21, and Barrington Gray, 33, who live at the same address, tried to leave a Staples store on the Hempstead Turnpike with unpaid merchandise, Nassau County police said.
When a 41-year-old store manager confronted them, she was hit in the head with a printer box, leaving her with a minor head injury, police said. The duo dropped the printer on the ground and took off out of the parking lot in a gray Mitsubishi with the chair, police said.
