LI Parents Arrested After Heroin OD With 4-Year-Old in Room: Cops

Officers needed to use Narcan to revive a 28-year-old woman, police say. Her 4-year-old daughter was in the room at the time.

LEVITTOWN, NY – Two people were arrested after one of them overdosed on heroin while their 4-year-old daughter was in the room Monday morning, Nassau Police said.

Officers responded to a home on Eden Lane in Levittown for an unresponsive female around 4:49 a.m.

When officers arrived, 34-year-old Brian Altman was attempting to revive 28-year-old Cynthia Kyro, police said.

Officers administered Narcan and began CPR on Kyro. She regained consciousness and was transported to an area hospital.

After an investigation, it was determined that Altman and Kryo had their 4-year-old daughter in the room with drug paraphernalia, drug residue and an exposed needle, police said.

Altman and Kryo were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The child was left in the custody of a family member.

Altman was arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead. Kyro will be arraigned when medically fit.
