LI Weather: Rain, Thunderstorms Could End A Cool And Sunny Week
After the weekend scorcher, temperatures are going to be much more mild this week.
LONG ISLAND, NY — After a scorcher of a weekend, Long Islanders can look forward to a cooler, more temperate week that may end with some rain.
Temperatures climbed to near 90 degrees this weekend, but things won't be nearly that hot this week. According to the forecast from the National Weather Service, today is the hottest day of the week, with a high around 74 degrees. The rest of the week, temperatures will be in the high 60s.
There's a chance of showers rolling in Wednesday night into Thursday. But the likelihood of showers increases Thursday night into Friday. The rain on Friday could become thunderstorms, too.

As of now, the weekend is looking clear and sunny, with high temperatures in the mid-70s — perfect barbecuing weather.
