LI Weather: Wet Week Gives Way For Clear New Year's Eve

It's going to be a dreary week, but will clear up in time for New Year celebrations. Then it's back to rain.

New Year's Eve looks like it will have clear skies, but it's about the only day this week that will happen.

LONG ISLAND, NY — A wet week is in store for Long Island, but will clear up in time for New Year's Eve. And there may even be some snow tonight.

According to the National Weather Service, the precipitation starts tonight with snow turning to rain as temperatures rise. Things will be warm and clear on Tuesday, but clouds will move in and rain is likely to come Tuesday night.

And that rain is likely going to stick around until Thursday night, when things finally clear up.
