Long Island Author Launching Local-Inspired Novel Nov 11

A heartfelt 1960s historical romance based on letters, local settings and a Levittown family legacy.

Laura DiTieri is a local author whose debut novel, Don’t Forget to Write, releases on November 11th. A huge part of the story is rooted right here on Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn.

The book is inspired by the real love story of her great aunt, a Catholic school teacher in Queens during the 1960s. She lived, worked, and fell in love in the very neighborhoods so many of us know well. Through old letters, family stories, and a lot of heart, Laura brought her world to life in a slow-burn, emotional, and deeply nostalgic novel.

Don’t Forget to Write follows Trudy through her first teaching job, the expectations placed on young women at the time, and the men who change her life. At its core is her profound love story and the legacy she left behind. Anyone who loves historical romance, New York nostalgia, or emotional, character-driven stories might connect with it.
