Woman Killed In Lynbrook Crash Identified: Police

The woman was struck by a Hyundai Sunday night just after 5:30 p.m., police say.

LYNBROOK, NY. — The 46-year-old woman who died in a Sunday night car crash in Lynbrook has been identified as Lynbrook resident Azucena Lopez Rodriguez, police said.

Nassau County police previously said Lopez Rodriguez had been crossing Sunrise Highway at the intersection with Horton Avenue when a 2012 Hyundai struck her. Lopez Rodriguez was then hospitalized and pronounced dead by a physician there, whil the 18-year-old man driving the Hyundai stayed at the scene, police said.

Police said Monday that an investigation into the crash was ongoing, and did not report any arrests or charges related to the crash.
