Long Island Weather: Thunderstorms Could Lead To Flooding
Be on the lookout for heavy rain today. But after that, the rest of the week should be warm and sunny.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Nassau residents may have to look out for heavy rain today that could produce some local flooding. But the rains won't last long, and the rest of the week will be sunny and warmer.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a low chance of flash floods in Nassau County due to thunderstorms that could drop an inch or more of rain per hour. But it's unclear when — and if — these storms will hit. Either way, there is likely to be rain today, which the area desperately needs.
There is also a chance of rain on Tuesday. After that, skies clear and temperatures begin to climb. Highs will be in the upper 80s for the back half of the week. There's a small chance of more rain on Friday, but the rest of the week should otherwise be sunny.
