The Levittown School District is proud to announce that MacArthur High School
student-musicians Keira Slater and Danielle Tribley have been selected by the New
York State School Music Association to participate in All-State ensembles at the annual NYSSMA Winter Conference, to be held at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester from Nov. 29 - Dec. 2, 2012.
Thousands of student-musicians auditioned for this honor last spring at solo and ensemble festivals throughout the state.
Keira (Alto I) and Danielle (Soprano II) will sing for the Women’s Chorus. Both
students are recurring performers in MacArthur High School musical, choral and theater productions. Danielle is a member of the Thespian and Tri-M Music honor societies and has been a NYSSMA performer since the seventh grade.
Keira is a member of Key Club, Amnesty International, Recycling Club and kickline.
In addition, Division Avenue student-musicians Brianna Chua, Heather Robertson and Iliana Tzanis have been selected as NYSSMA alternates. Although these students will not attend the Winter Conference, being named an alternate is a prestigious honor and indicates that these students are among the top musicians in the state.
The Levittown Schools would like to congratulate these outstanding student-musicians for having been selected to represent the district at this prestigious event.
