Memorial Service Set for Vladimir Rus, Resident and LPOA Member
Rus also served as a Trustee at the Levittown Library for 10 years.

Dr. Vladimir Rus, 86, of Levittown, passed away on June 11, 2013, with memorial service scheduled for June 29, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes in Levittown.
Rus was a long-time member of the Levittown Property Owner's Association. The association expressed their sorrow of his passing at their most recent meeting.
Born in Czechoslovakia, Rus emigrated to Italy 1948; came to US in 1950. He met and married Viola Daphne Batts in 1952, and the couple moved to Levittown in 1959.
Dr. Rus earned his PhD in German Literature at NYU in 1963. He taught at Great Neck South SHS for over 30 years until retiring in 1996. He chaired the Language Dept. and taught Latin, Italian, German, Russian, and French. He later taught Latin at The Wheatley School. He published translations of German and Russian poetry.
Dr. Rus was a member of LPOA for 30 years and Trustee of Levittown Public Library for 10 years. He is survived by wife Daphne, 3 children: Francis (Todd), Kristina and Thomas, and 5 grandchildren.
