Nassau Launches New Initiative To Help Businesses Recover

The program is aimed at helping organizations that can in turn help businesses recover from the economic toll of the coronavirus pandemic.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced the launch of a new program today that will help businesses recover from the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The new program, the Small Business Technical Assistance and Planning, is designed to give funding to organizations that help small businesses thrive. Those organizations can submit applications for funding for new or existing programs to help businesses in their areas.

"We look forward to receiving proposals with new, creative initiatives to help our Mom and Pops recover and thrive," Curran said.

The program is being funded with $1.5 million from the American Rescue Plan funding the county received from the federal government.

Interested organizations can apply through the Boost Nassau portal — the county's place with all the info on applying for coronavirus recovery grants. Homeowners and renters can also find resources there, not just businesses.

"If you think your organization has an existing program or an idea for a program that might be eligible, I encourage you to apply," said Curran.
