Nassau Man Strangled 10-Year-Old Boy, Attacked His Mother: Police
Police say the mother found the man, who she knew, attacking her son in his bedroom last June.

JERICHO, NY — A Levittown man was arrested Wednesday for an incident in 2021 where police say he attacked a child and their mother in their home in Jericho.
According to police, on June 27, 2021, a woman heard a disturbance coming from the bedroom of he 10-year-old son. Police say she went in and saw her friend, Harshdeep Brar, 29, of Levittown, with his arm around her son's neck.
The woman tried to intervene, and police say Brar began to punch her and her son. He then left the home, police said.

The mother brought her son to the Second Precinct Station House in Woodbury to report the incident.
Police say they conducted a thorough investigation and arrested Brar on Sept. 28, 2022.

Brar is charged with second-degree criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.
