NEARBY: Power Outages Reported in East Meadow and Hicksville
A small number of outages still remain as of 5 p.m. Friday.

Power outages were reported in East Meadow and Hicksville Friday morning.
According to the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) Storm Center Outage Map, 1,750 customers were without power in East Meadow, but it was restored at about 10:30 a.m.
As of 5 p.m. Friday, seven customers in East Meadow and eight customers in Hicksville were still without power, according to the map.
The power outage was the result of an equipment failure at the LIPA substation in North Bellmore, and most customers had their power restored shortly after, Newsday reported.
