Public to Be Heard Session Scheduled for Levittown School Board Meeting

A look at the agenda for Wednesday's meeting.

The Levittown Board of Education holds a regular meeting on Wednesday night, 7:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the Levittown Memorial Education Center, located at 150 Abbey Lane. 

This meeting will be devoted to reports from the Superintendent of Schools and Board Members, regular agenda items of old and new business and schedules, according to the agenda. 

"Immediately following Board Members reports, a period not to exceed two hours shall be set aside to afford residents of the community and/or school district employees an opportunity to make comments or to raise questions related to school affairs," the agenda says.

Some notable items on the agenda include policy review of smoking on school premises, evaluation of personnel, and diploma and/or credential options for students with disabilities.

The board is also expected to approve a transportation contract with Nassau BOCES for the 2013-14 school year outdoor education trips, at a cost of $23,400.
