Hugh Kelleher, a senior from General Douglas MacArthur High School in the Levittown Public Schools was recently selected as one of the first recipients of the new Tom Flatley Award. As a result, Kelleher will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Nassau Lacrosse Coaches Association.

The Tom Flatley Award was created in honor of football and lacrosse coach, Tom Flatley, who held an impressive coaching career with the Sewanhaka lacrosse program and the Garden City football program.

Kelleher is one of two Nassau County student-athletes to earn the inaugural award. The award is granted to a male student-athlete in Nassau County who competes at a high level in both football and lacrosse and demonstrates athletic and peer leadership, academic success, as well as community service and/or extracurriculars.
After graduation, Kelleher will attend Cornell University for lacrosse. The district congratulates him on this outstanding recognition.
