Unofficial Results Are In For 5th County Legislature District
Democrat Olena Nicks and Republican Moshe Hill were on the ballot this year.

UNIONDALE, NY. — Olena Nicks will be the next legislator in Nassau County Legislature’s 5th district, according to unofficial tallies that show Nicks defeating Moshe Hill in Tuesday’s election.
Nicks received 6,041 votes, equal to 57.39 percent of voters, while Hill received 4,481, or 42.57 percent. It’s a step into a new district for Nicks, who previously won a special election to replace Siela Bynoe, who now serves in the State Senate, in February.
The former Lieutenant in the Uniondale Fire Department will be part of an eight-member minority in the legislature come January.
