A scheduled protest by several local unions of the new Walmart Market in Levittown has been cancelled due to the rain.
No re-scheduled date has been set yet for the protest, which was planned for 12 p.m. at 3335 Hempstead Tpke.
The unions planning on protesting were: Long Island Jobs with Justice, UFCW/RWDSU Local 338, a retail, wholesale and department store union, UFCW Local 1500, a grocery worker union, and the Long Island Federation of Labor, which represents union workers from a wide range of fields.
The Walmart Market is planned for a July opening, with construction nearing completion.
