Wisdom Lane Science Olympiad Team Wins First Place
It's the first time the team has placed first at the county level. They're now heading to the state competition.

LEVITTOWN, NY — The Science Olympiad team at Wisdom Lane Middle School nabbed first place for the first time in team history at the New York State Regional Tournament on March 12. They will compete at the state competition on April 8 in Syracuse.
The Science Olympiad team has qualified for the state competition for the past 18 years, but this is the first time they won first-place win at the regional level. Before the competition, students prepared in class, before school and during their lunch periods. They answered questions in science-related categories, such as Rocks and Minerals, Electric Wright Stuff and Dynamic Planet.
The team is comprised of all eighth graders, including Ashley Agatep, Agampreet Baidwan, Jefferson Biener, Riley Cunningham, Joseph Gallo, Nish Keer, Robert Martinez III, Haley Pedrick, Keira Quigley, Taranpreet Rathor, Mackenzie Restivo, Helen Salib, Shruthika Veeravalli and Lillian Velez.
