2 Hospitalized After Car Crash On Long Island: Police
Two men were hospitalized after getting injured in a car crash in Lindenhurst on Monday afternoon, Suffolk County police say.
LINDENHURST, NY — Two men were hospitalized after a car crash in Lindenhurst on Monday afternoon, according to Suffolk County police.
Police said an 84-year-old man was driving a 2020 Hyundai southbound on Straight Path when he tried to make a left turn onto 31st Street and collided with a 2010 Chrysler driven by Juan Melendez-Sandoval around 1:15 p.m.
The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious physical injuries, while Melendez-Sandoval, 34, of Farmingdale, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Police said the Hyundai and the Chrysler were impounded for safety checks.
