Lindenhurst Students Turn Tradition Into Holiday Cheer For Local Seniors
Student volunteers welcomed local senior citizens for an afternoon of food, conversation, and community, school officials say.
LINDENHURST, NY — Students at Lindenhurst High School continued a beloved community tradition this month, hosting the school’s annual Senior Citizens Luncheon that brought together student volunteers and local seniors for an afternoon of shared meals, conversation, and holiday cheer.
The event was organized by the Lindenhurst High School student council and supported by a team of student volunteers who helped prepare, serve, and spend time with guests throughout the luncheon. School officials said the gathering offered students an opportunity to give back while strengthening connections with longtime members of the community.
The luncheon was held under the guidance of student council faculty advisor Megan Scharf, who worked with students to coordinate the event and ensure guests felt welcomed and appreciated.
