4 People Arrested For Selling Alcohol,Vape to Minor At Suffolk Stores

The businesses were investigated on Thursday, police say.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Four people were arrested and charged for selling alcohol and vape products to people under the age of 21 at Suffolk County stores during compliance checks at businesses on Thursday, Suffolk County Police said.

In response to community complaints, First Precinct Crime Section officers, along with Community Support Unit officers and patrol officers, conducted an investigation into the sale of vape products and alcohol to minors during which seven businesses were checked for compliance with the law.

The following people were arrested and charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child for selling alcohol to someone under 21 years of age:

  • A 26-year-old Lindenhurst man, an employee of Liberty gas station, located at 725 Wyandanch Ave. in West Babylon.
  • A 27-year-old of Lindenhurst man, an employee of Valero gas station, located at 701 Oak St. in Copiague.

The following people were arrested and charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child for selling vape tobacco products to someone under 21 years of age:

  • A 22-year-old Copiague woman, an employee of Flame Worx, located at 500 Oak St. in Copiague.
  • A 43-year-old Deer Park man, owner of Xpress Market To Go, located at 1273 Deer Park Ave. in North Babylon.

All four were released on Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date, police said.
