82: Go to Lindenhurst Rotary's Pasta Night
Buying a ticket will help raise money for one of the Club's main causes: the eradication of polio.

Annual Pasta NightThe Club's annual is set for , January 27, from , at Firemen's Pavilion. And it'll raise money for one of the international service organization's main causes: the eradication of polio.

"The majority of the proceeds will go toward the Rotary's main cause: polio," said Jackie Milton, president-elect for the Club. "The Rotary is responsible for eradicating it throughout most of the world."
Indeed, although Rotary clubs develop autonomous service programs, all Rotarians are united in a global campaign to eradicate polio, according to the Rotary International website.

The Lindenhurst Rotary Club's event will feature four to five different types of pasta freshly made by two firemen from the .
"There'll also be salad, bread donated by local bakeries and desserts by all of the Rotarians - plus coffee, tea and soda," noted Milton, who added that it's a nice night out for families.
"Each year we get a lot of people and families who come out and have a good time," said Milton. And for a relatively reasonable price: $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children younger than 12 years old.
Besides the food, a big draw is the Chinese auction, according President-Elect Milton, who'll succeed current president, , as of July 1.
"Everyone loves it and can't wait for the drawing of the names. Last year we had more than 100 items - different organizations and businesses donate, and the Rotarians make and donate gift baskets, too," she said.
A 50/50 raffle will also take place. And beer and wine will be available for purchase at the cash bar.
