Amityville School District Receives National Music Honor For 13th Time
The designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in music education.
AMTIYVILLE, NY — The Amityville Union Free School District is continuing to hit high notes.
The district announced it was honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation for the 13th time from The National Association of Music Merchant (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
The designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students, a release said.

Now in its 24th year, the 2023 Best Communities for Music Education program has recognized 830 school districts and 78 schools across 43 states for the outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders for their support of music education as part of a well-rounded education for all children.
The foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs.
