At The Library: Free Movie, D.C. Bus Trip
Take a final summer weekend trip down to the nation's capital with the library!

Our local libraries are a source of both knowledge and entertainment, with informational and education events being hosted throughout the week.
The Lindenhurst Memorial Library often hosts these events for little or no charge, so check out the top events going on this week.
- The library will hold a free showing of the 2012 movie "The Place Beyond the Pines" on Thursday, September 5 at 1:30 p.m. The movie is Rated R.
- Travel with the library to our nation’s capitol as they visit the many historical landmarks and monuments starting on Friday, September 6. The group will spend time on our own at the National Mall, the heart of D.C., lined by some of America’s finest museums including the Smithsonian, National Air and Space, National Archives, National Gallery of Art and many more. The trip also includes Arlington National Cemetery; the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a visit to Mount Vernon, home of George Washington, a night light tour of the monuments – even more striking at night. Explore the National Museum of Crime and Punishment, as well as see the architecturally beautiful Washington National Cathedral. This package includes: deluxe transportation, accommodations for two nights at Best Western in Falls Church, VA. 2 continental breakfasts, 2 dinners, one at the hotel on Friday evening, and the other is at Carmine’s famous Italian restaurant, tours, admissions, and gratuities. Non-refundable fee of $361 per person is for double occupancy and $466 per person is for single occupancy. Full payment is due during in-person & registration which is underway.
