Auditions Tues. for Tri-State Talent Show at LHS

Lindenhurst High School is one of four audition sites in the tri-state area for the latest installment of MSG Varsity’s Talent Show.

The LHS joins three other audition sites open for casting in the next two weeks for the tri-state-area TV competition that offers student performers a chance to shine.

Casting/audition dates and sites for high school singers from across the region include the following:

• Tuesday, November 27: Lindenhurst High School on Long Island.
• Thursday, November 29: Neptune High School in southern New Jersey.
• Tuesday, December 4: DePaul Catholic High School in Northern New Jersey.
• Thursday, December 6: Maria Regina High School in Westchester County.

All four will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the above dates and the above locations.

Students must sign-up to attend auditions by visiting www.msgvarsity.com/talentshow, according to show producers in a release about the casting/audition call.

They said the competition is open to all high school students throughout the tri-state region who either live in or attend school within the Cablevision service area.

Talent Show hopefuls can audition either by going online to www.msgvarsity.com/talentshow and uploading a video of themselves performing or by attending one of four local audition sites, producers said.

“We're thrilled to get the audition process underway for season three of MSG Varsity’s Talent Show,” said Theresa Chillianis, General Manager, MSG Varsity, said in the release.

“We're always amazed by the talent that these high school singers possess, and we're eager to see who'll go on to compete for this season’s title," she said.

Hosted by former American Idol semifinalist Jared Cotter, the show is set to return with an all-new cast of competitors this Spring, where one winner will be awarded a professional studio experience and be crowned MSG Varsity’s Talent Show champion.

Ultimately 16 vocalists will be chosen to perform this season in MSG Varsity’s Talent Show, premiering Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 8 p.m. on MSG Varsity, Optimum TV channel 14.

The winner of MSG Varsity’s Talent Show will be determined by weekly online fan voting via www.msgvarsitytalentshow.com. Performers with the most votes each week will advance to the next round. The top four finalists will perform Sunday, May 12, with the winner to be announced on Sunday, May 19.
