Babylon Town Offers Residents Senior Advocacy Help

County staffers visit local communities, including Lindenhurst, to help seniors get needed help, resources.

Town senior residents in Lindenhurst and elsewhere in the community needing help with housing, food and other life essentials, as well as assistance with state and federal medical programs, could meet with a Suffolk County Senior Advocate to get help.

Advocates visit local communities on a regular basis to assist seniors, aged 60 and older, with information gathering, completion of eligibility or recertification applications and referrals to appropriate community agencies.

Here's the schedule for the Babylon area:

  • (Lindenhurst): Wednesdays, February 8 and March 7, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • : Monday, February 27, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Tanner Park Senior Center (Copiague): Wednesdays, February 22 and March 21, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • West Babylon Library: Thursday, March 22, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Spangle Drive Center (North Babylon): Mondays, February 6 and March 5, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Deer Park Library: Tuesday, March 27, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Advocates provide assistance with food stamps, Medicare savings programs, Medicaid applications and Heating Emergency Assistance Program (HEAP) applications, as well as answer questions and make additional recommendations and referrals.
