Copiague Students Host 'Veterans Day Breakfast' To Honor Local Heroes
Several members of the local V.F.W. and those serving in the Armed Forces were treated to a breakfast at the elementary school.

COPIAGUE, NY — Copiague students are honoring local veterans.
For the first time since 2018, Copiague’s Great Neck Road Elementary School hosted its popular Veterans Day Breakfast on Thursday, paying tribute to members of the local V.F.W. and relatives of students who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
In a ceremony, attendees were treated to numerous performances, such as a patriotic kindergarten singalong, recitation of a poem by fifth graders and a musical tribute sung by the special Veterans Day chorus.

Guests also watched a video tribute.
Members of the student council took photos with Polaroid cameras of the veterans and put them in a frame as a special keepsake.

“Today, the students and staff of the Great Neck Road Elementary School proudly honored the members of the United States Armed Forces for all they have done to make the United States of America the great country in the world,” said Principal Tamika Eason.
