Empty in Lindenhurst: Old Hollywood Video Place

Tell us what you'd like to see in this business space in Lindenhurst.

A sure sign of the tough economic times is the number of For Sale and For Rent signs you see in the Village and North Lindenhurst.

If you go down Wellwood Avenue, Sunrise Highway, Hoffman Avenue, Montauk Highway or other major roads in the area, residents are sure to find a few.

During the next few months Lindenhurst Patch is going to some of those properties and ask you what you'd like to see in there.

This week Patch is looking at the empty storefront once housed Hollywood Video in North Lindenhurst on East Sunrise Highway.

Hollywood Video thrived for many years in that anchor space in Sunrise Plaza, but as people found they could download movies, games and TV series online over the years, it was forced to close the Lindenhurst location.

And its parent company realigned itself online.

As a result, the storefront's been vacant for some time now.

The Schuckman Realty Incorporated sign says the property is "suitable for wet or dry use."

It also lists the Woodbury-based real estate company's phone number, 516-496-8888, and its website, www.SchuckmanRealty.com.
