A sure sign of the tough economic times is the number of For Sale and For Rent signs you see in the Village and North Lindenhurst.
If you go down Wellwood Avenue, Sunrise Highway, Hoffman Avenue, Montauk Highway or other major roads in the area, residents are sure to find a few.
During the next few months, Lindenhurst Patch is going to some of those properties and ask you what you'd like to see in there.
This week, Patch is looking at two spaces next door to each other, one a former ice cream parlor and the other previously an acupuncturist's office.
The former was home to a Hershey’s Ice Cream for several years during the 2000’s and a Carvel before that before becoming Only 8 Frozen Yogurt for a very short period of time in 2010. The space has been unoccupied since at least November 2011.
The latter space was an acupuncture office that closed before November 2011 and had also previously housed Suffolk County Legislator Wayne Horsley’s office before he moved north of the railroad tracks.
The space is on the far side from any of the municipal parking lots and a short walk from the LIRR station.
What would you like to see move into these locations? A clothing store? How about a food market? A video game store or arcade? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
