Firefighters Battle Blaze At Daycare On Long Island: Police
Firefighters battled a blaze in a Long Island home that doubled as a daycare and went up in flames on Wednesday, Suffolk County police say.
LINDENHURST, NY — Suffolk County Police Arson Section detectives are investigating a fire at a Lindenhurst home used as a daycare facility on Wednesday, Suffolk County police told Patch.
Police said the North Lindenhurst Fire Department responded to a call about a house fire at 221 51st St. in North Lindenhurst around 9:30 a.m.
When police arrived, the house had already been evacuated.

Photographer Anthony Frevola was on the scene and said he observed that firefighters "knocked down the majority of the fire within the first 10 minutes of arrival."
Police said they believe the cause of the fire to be non-criminal and there were no injuries.
