Former NBA Player, LI Coach Inducted Into Sports Hall of Fame
A former NBA point guard and Amityville graduate and coach will be inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame for the Class of 2025.

AMITYVILLE, NY — A former NBA player and Amityville School District coach will be inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame for the Class of 2025.
A.J. Price, Amityville Memorial High School’s volunteer assistant varsity basketball coach and a former NBA point guard, will be honored during the 35th anniversary of the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame on May 29 at Flowerfield in St. James.
Price graduated from Amityville Memorial High School in 2004, after leading the school to three straight Long Island Championships and two state titles in his sophomore and junior seasons.

He played Division I basketball on a full basketball scholarship at the University of Connecticut from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, he was the leading scorer for the UConn Huskies, who advanced to the Final Four in the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.
Price went on to play basketball for five NBA teams from 2009 to 2015 and was a part of the coaching staff that led Amityville to its 20th Suffolk County championship in program history.
