Girls Varsity Soccer Team Raises $700 for Cancer Research
The Lady Bulldogs pulled out a 2-0 win in the Kicks for Cancer game.

The Lindenhurst High School girls varsity soccer team joined the fight against cancer this month, raising $700 for cancer research.
The event, called Kicks for Cancer, featured a game against East Islip along with food, apparel sales, a 50-50 raffle and a donation bucket.
The Lady Bulldogs beat cancer and beat East Islip as well, winning 2-0 on goals by Amanda Steinman and Gina Marie Weis.
“The Lindy Pride was truly something special,” said Coach Charles Brostowski. “We had the best attendance of the season.”
Kicks for Cancer events are being held throughout Suffolk County this month in conjunction with girls high school soccer. Lindenhurst officials said it will continue to be an annual event in the village with support from players, parents and the Lindenhurst Youth Soccer League.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink ribbons are the featured item of choice this month to help raise awareness for the disease that claims thousands of lives every year.
