Harding Avenue Students Impress Seniors at Rainbow Center
Students wow seniors and dance along in annual parade at former school building.
Sixty-two Harding Avenue Elementary School first-grade students visited more than 100 senior citizens at the Lindenhurst Rainbow Center for their annual Halloween show.
The students paraded through the building in costumes, sang songs, recited poems and danced the Chicken Dance and Electric Slide.
Each senior citizen received a little pumpkin from a student and was wowed by the finale of “I’m Proud to be an American” sung by the students.
“Seeing so many generations dancing and singing together was amazing," said Principal Brian Chamberlin, who thanked teachers Jennifer Cavallaro, Jessica Ciampi and Karen Newman for coordinating the festivities.
