Hit-And-Run-Crash Hospitalizes LI Man With Serious Injuries: Police

A hit-and-run crash hospitalized a man who was crossing the street on Long Island over the weekend, Suffolk County police say.

LINDENHURST, NY — A man was hospitalized with serious injuries following a hit-and-run crash in Lindenhurst on Saturday, according to Suffolk County police.

Jose Batresmendez, 53, of Copiague, was crossing North Strong Avenue, near 27th Street, when he was struck by a southbound motorcycle that fled the scene around 5:58 p.m., police said.

Batresmendez was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
