Lindenhurst Family Charged in $1 Million Contracting Scam
Contractor allegedly used false company names to steal money from clients.

A Lindenhurst family have been arrested for their alleged roles in a $1 million contracting scam in the tri-state area over the past nine years.
According to the Eastchester Daily Voice, Harrison (NY) Police alleged Anthony Delmaro, of Lindenhurst, with giving estimates and collecting payment for work that was never completed on homes and businesses.
Police said they discovered Delmaro had been traveling the country for nearly the past decade from Texas to New York repeating the scam. He would solicit clients by sending out mass faxes offering home improvement work using different alias, company names and cell phone numbers.
His companies went by the names Bull-Dog Roofing, A-1 Strong Island Roofing, Ace Roofing, Flattop Roofing and Island-Tec Roofing.
He allegedly scammed one elderly Harrison resident out of $5,000 for work that was never completed. Another case four years ago saw a New Rochelle resident swindled out of $5,000.
Delmaro was arrested in Yonkers along with his wife, Ruby Stevenson, and son, Geno Delmaro, as a search warrant was executed on their home in Lindenhurst.
Anthony Delmaro was charged with Grand Larceny, Geno Delmaro was charged with Larceny and Stevenson was charged with Conspiracy. Police told Daily Voice more charges are pending as the investigation continues.
Anthony Delmaro was held at Westchester County Jail with no bail. Stevenson and Delmaro had bail set at $10,000, which they did not post.
