Lindenhurst Man Charged with DWI Following Three-Car Crash

Police say crash at intersection of Montauk Highway and South Broadway Monday night leaves one woman seriously injured.

A Lindenhurst man has been arrested following a three-car crash on Monday night that seriously injured a Copiague woman.

Suffolk Police charged Thomas Clarry, 44, with driving while intoxicated after allegedly causing the crash that shut down all four lanes of traffic of West Montauk Highway at South Broadway.

The SCPD said Clarry was driving a 2004 Jeep SUV Westbound on Montauk Highway when he attempted to make a left onto South Broadway.

He collided, police said, with a 2003 Infiniti traveling Eastbound being driven by Dina Gaballa, 31, at 5:13 p.m.

A 2000 Buick also traveling Eastbound, which was driven by Jessica Napolitano, 39, clipped Gaballa’s car after the initial crash, police added.

The rescue squad responded for the mulitple in need of aid following the crash.

Gaballa, her father, Mohammed Gaballa, 68, her four-year-old daughter, two-year-old son and a nine-year-old nephew, all from Copiague, were transported to in West Islip, with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Dina Gaballa, suffered serious injuries, including a possible broken ankle, and the nine-year-old suffered facial injuries, Suffolk Police noted.

Clarry and Napolitano, also from Lindenhurst, were uninjured in the crash, police said.

All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks, the SCPD indicated.

First Precinct detectives charged Clarry with DWI, and police said he's scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, on Tuesday, May 29.
