Lindenhurst New Year’s Eve Celebration

Hundreds brave the cold to ring in 2026!

Despite frigid temperatures, hundreds of residents gathered in the heart of the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2026 at a vibrant community celebration hosted by the Village of Lindenhurst in partnership with the Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s event held special meaning as it honored Joann Boettcher, recognizing her lasting contributions to the community. The evening also marked the official local kickoff of America’s Semiquincentennial, setting the tone for celebrations leading up to the nation’s 250th anniversary.

As the countdown began, the Lindenhurst Fire Department lit up the night, creating a dramatic and memorable backdrop for the New Year’s Eve “ball drop.” Their lights transformed the cold evening into a truly special moment, drawing cheers from the crowd.
