Early-Morning Fire Damages Home In Lindenhurst

LINDENHURST, NY — Lindenhurst firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at a home on South 5th Street early Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported at approximately 2:30 a.m., according to fire officials. First-arriving chiefs confirmed active fire conditions at the rear of a single-story home, prompting a coordinated fire attack.

Firefighters secured a water supply and stretched multiple hose lines while crews worked to knock down the fire. The blaze was brought under control, officials said.

No injuries were immediately reported. It was not immediately clear if any residents were displaced.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Suffolk County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Multiple Lindenhurst Fire Department units responded to the scene, along with additional support crews.
