Lindenhurst Robotics Team Honored by Village

The team places 26th in nation after competing at competitions at Hofstra and in St. Louis.

The Robotics Team 533 - aka the Psicotics - were honored by the Village Board of Trustees at the board's most recent at .

The board presented a proclamation to the team for its efforts this Spring at not only the SBPLI FIRST Robotics Competition at Hofstra University, but also at the FRC Championship in St. Louis.

Team 533 finished in the top two percent at the FIRST Championship International competition held in St. Louis in April, according to a report on AmericanTowns.com.

The placed 26th in the nation out of 400 teams - and that was out of 1,300 teams which competed, according to Superintendent Richard Nathan at the most recent of the Lindenhurst Board of Education.

The robotic team members spent many nights making changes to the robot to produce a more efficient robot, according to the report.

“The robot operated better than we thought,” explained advisor John Slokovitz in the report. “The students pulled together as a true team.”

In the report he also thanked all of the team members who achieved the LHS team's best finish at the event since 2001, and wished all of the graduating seniors good luck: Joel Ally, Sean Fox, Michael Gniewek, Jonathan Locovare, John Rinaldi, Michael Rinaldi, Anthony Micara and Alan Monk.
