Lindenhurst's Barthelmes Leads the Pack in Track
LHS Junior Alyssa Barthelmes has broken another school record after competing for the third consecutive year in the New York State Championships and winning at the Suffolk County Championships earlier this year.

One student and track star is having a very good year, breaking another school record.
According to Steve Gosline, head coach of the LHS Varsity Girls Track team, Junior recently ran at the New York State Outdoor Track Championships in Syracuse, taking 11th place in the 400-meter race.
She also won the County Championships this past February at Suffolk Community College, becoming the Suffolk County Champion in Winter Track for the 2011 season, according to Gosline.

In addition, Barthelmes currently holds four school records, and has qualified for the NYS Track Championships for three consecutive seasons.
"I'm so proud of Alyssa. She's accomplished so much, and yet will go even further. I've never coached a smarter or stronger, more gifted runner," said Gosline.
"It's so exciting competing with the best in the state. I always want to push myself to do my best," Barthelmes said about her track accomplishments and career.
