Lindenhurst Students Awarded Suffolk Zone Honors
High schoolers given award for education, leadership and community service.
Two Lindenhurst High School students were recently selected as the school's Suffolk Zone Leadership Award winners for the school year.
Samantha Saporito and Ryan McDonough were selected to be awarded this year's honors, which are given to students by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
The criteria for the Suffolk Zone award include exceptional performance in physical education, scholarship, leadership qualities and service to the Lindenhurst community.
The students were both nominated by the entire physical education staff.
The students were honored at a dinner at the Hyatt Regency Wind Watch in Hauppauge.
