Lindenhurst Superintendent Announces Resignation
Anthony Davidson, who was appointed the position last year, announced his resignation.

LINDENHURST, NY — Anthony Davidson, superintendent of Lindenhurst School District, is stepping down.
At a special meeting on Monday night, the Lindenhurst Board of Education accepted Davidson's, effective the close of business on July 31.
The educator of more than 25 years will remain on special assignment effective immediately and through his official last day, the district said.

He was appointed as superintendent on July 1, 2022.
At the same meeting, the Board of Education named Vincent Caravana to serve as acting superintendent through July 31. Hewill become Interim Superintendent effective the close of business on July 31, the district said.

Caravana is a long-standing member of our Lindenhurst school family, having worked in the district since 2009. Prior to his most recent position of deputy superintendent, Caravana worked as the English Coordinator for the district.
"He is well respected among his colleagues and the community, and we are confident that he will provide strong leadership for our district during this time of transition," the district said.
The district also said that while they understand that the community "may have questions regarding this update," to understand that as it is a matter of personnel.
"No further details can be shared publicly as we wish to respect the right to privacy for all involved," the district said.
