Lindy Boys Volleyball Finish Great Season After Finals Loss
Despite finals loss, Lindenhurst ended the regular season with an impressive 13-1 record.

The Lindenhurst High School boys varsity volleyball team finished off another great season, making it all the way to the Suffolk County finals.
The team entered the playoffs off of a wildly successful 13-1 regular season, losing only to perennial powerhouse Sachem North.
The Bulldogs, ranked second overall in the playoffs, faced off with Sachem East in the finals and were beat out to the victory – if only just by a little, 3-1.
Opening round in the playoffs included a victory in the quarterfinal round against seventh-ranked Whitman. Damian Kowalczyk had eight kills, Ryan McDonough had 13 kills and Anthony Nischo had eight kills to lead Lindenhurst.
“The boys had another great year, going through many obstacles,” exclaimed coach Angelo Cioffaletti. “Thank you to everyone for their continued dedication and support for the boys volleyball program.”
In the Class A semifinal round against third-ranked Bay Shore, Ryan McDonough had 15 kills and Steve Schrank added 32 assists to lead Lindenhurst.Find out what's happening in Lindenhurstfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
