Lindy Girls Volleyball Finishes Season With 9-4 Record

Team finishes the year 9-4 after making it to the Suffolk County semifinals.

The Lindenhurst High School girls varsity volleyball team wrapped up a successful 2013 season recently, finishing with a 9-4 record.

The winning record helped seed the girls as fourth in the Suffolk Class AA playoffs after defeating league leader Connetquot earlier in the season.

The opening round of the playoffs resulted in a win against number 13 East Islip. Brianna Koehler led the team with 16 kills and 11 blocks.

The second round quarterfinals included a win over Sachem East.  Alexa Morgan finished with 35 assists and three aces. Erin Ramirez added seven digs.

The Bulldogs lost in the semifinal match against number one seeded Smithtown East. The team came back to win the second game, but couldn't hold on for the overall victory.

“The girls had another amazing year and continue to make the community proud,” coach Kellie Block said. “They are true Lindy Bulldogs!”
