Local Businessman Recognized by Lindenhurst School District

James Wrieth received the Yale Award at the most recent Board of Education meeting.

Every year at the June Community Forum, special are presented to deserving faculty and administrators in of their service to the , according to school officials.

The one of those given is the Yale Award.

On behalf of the district Superintendent Richard Nathan presented the Yale Award to James Wrieth of Wrieth Insurance in Lindenhurst at the  Lindenhurst Board of Education  at the .

Wrieth runs the Lindenhurst Wrestling Club, and has raised thousands of dollars for the Club, and is even spearheading an expansion of the wrestling room at the LHS that is completely done through donations of time, money and materials, noted Nathan.

"He's given a tremendous amount of time giving back to his community, where he was born and raised," Nathan said.

"He's helped the wrestling team stay undefeated for the past two years, and he's developed an annual tournament that attracts more than 400 participants from across Long Island," he continued. "He's a tremendous asset to the community and exemplifies Lindy Pride."

After receiving the award many of the kids he coaches shook his hand and thanked him, as well.
