The letter, Nathan said, outlined why she should receive this award. It noted the fact that Enea made sure didn't feel any different than the other kids, organized a second pajama day for him since he missed the first one because of treatments and visited him at the hospital after a field trip at Christmas time to see the Polar Express couldn't attend.

There, according to the family in the letter, Enea drank hot chocolate and watched the DVD with Mason so he didn't feel left out.

Nathan quoted the letter, "My son is always eager to learn and always look forward to lessons with Ms. Enea. We're proud to call her mason's teacher."

Enea accepted the award to a standing ovation, calling the Batz family "amazing."

The family was on hand to present Enea with flowers, as well.
