Man Seriously Injured In LI Car Crash Identified: Police
A man hospitalized with serious injuries after a car crash in Lindenhurst on Monday has been identified, Suffolk County police say.
LINDENHURST, NY — A man who was hospitalized with serious injuries after a car crash in Lindenhurst on Monday has been identified, Suffolk County police said.
Police said a man driving a 2020 Hyundai southbound on Straight Path tried to make a left turn onto 31st Street and collided with a 2010 Chrysler driven by Juan Melendez-Sandoval around 1:15 p.m.
The Hyundai's driver has been identified as John Wojcicki, 84, of Copiague, police said.

Wojcicki was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious physical injuries, while Melendez-Sandoval, 34, of Farmingdale, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
Police said the Hyundai and the Chrysler were impounded for safety checks.
