Pedestrian Killed, Struck By Car In Copiague: Police
The man was crossing the street when he was struck by a car, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY — A pedestrian is dead, after he was struck by a car while crossing the street in Copiague on Friday, Suffolk County Police said.
At about 11:57 p.m., an adult male was walking southbound across Eastbound Sunrise Highway, at 35th Street, when he was struck by an eastbound 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said.
The man, who has not yet been identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene by an EMT with Copiague Fire Department, police said.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
The Jeep was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
