Photos: Lindy Elementary Fire Poster Contest Winners
Here's a look at the winners from each elementary school in Lindenhurst.
The elementary student winners of the annual fire poster contest in the Lindenhurst School District have been announced.
"Congratulations to the 2012 winners of the annual fire poster contest, sponsored by the Lindenhurst Fire Department and Liberty Hose Company One," school officials said in a statement announcing the winners.
The annual contest was coordinated by Harry "Pro" Prodromides, and invited all elementary students to participate.

Students were asked to either color or draw a picture based on the theme of fire safety. Submissions were then judged and five winners (one per grade) from each school were chosen.
To recognize these winners the LFD traveled to each school with a fire truck, and presented the winning artists with certificates of achievement.

The winners at each school are as follows:
- William Rall Elementary School: Juliana Alberella, Jack Winey, Atahan Yetimoglu, Ava Marquez and Griovanni Tarte.
- Daniel Street Elementary School: Julia Katusta, Damian Barzylcowski, Ava Laquidara, Anthony Genna and Jared Fierro.
- Alleghany Avenue Elementary School: Stacey Canales, Madalyn Tomasello, Michelle Kurianowicz, Analiese Watts and Angelina MenDell.
- Harding Avenue Elementary School: Veronica Rusnak, Albert Littman, Jake Trovato, Natalie Hayden and Jake Vollmuth.
- West Gates Elementary School: Joseph Wensdorfer, Kaleigh Reichelt, Samantha Salvia, Donald Whalen and Anna Longenberger.
- Albany Avenue Elementary School: Veronika Mikucka, Jessica Orzelowski, Natasha Adnan, Chiara Sesto and Angelina Botero.
